THE WHYGoogle Forms Links to an external site. provides an efficient way to distribute, collect, and evaluate formative assessments. Since the forms can be graded quizzes, this allows the teacher to easily identify students' needs to differentiate instruction in a timely manner. Google Forms allows students to design forms to collect authentic data beyond the walls of the classroom, interact and communicate with a real-world audience of learners and experts. The data can be synced to a spreadsheet, and graphed, all of which can be shared. Google Forms provides an opportunity for students to apply critical thinking while analyzing and evaluating data. Students can use digital tools to represent the data in various ways, sorting and filtering the data, and creating graphs. It provides the opportunity to foster information literacy and provides lessons on copyright.
