THE WHYGoogle Sheets Links to an external site. provides an opportunity for students to apply critical thinking while analyzing and evaluating data. Students can use digital tools to represent the data in creative ways, sorting and filtering the data, and designing graphs. They can draw conclusions, make predictions, formulate their hypothesis, and experiment with the data. Using Google Sheets provides the opportunity to foster digital literacy. Since the spreadsheet can be shared, it can support collaboration and communication. The ability to publish a spreadsheet can give students an authentic audience of learners and experts outside of the classroom. The comment feature facilitates feedback.
