EduProtocols
OVERVIEWEduProtocols Links to an external site. are lesson frames that allow for student choice, stimulate higher order thinking skills, and scaffold the development of students’ universal skills, such as creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills. Students who consistently use these protocols are also better able to master the content than with typical classroom practices. Other benefits for students include enhanced motivation, autonomy, and ability to self-regulate their learning. EduProtocols:
These protocols are learning workflows that achieve efficiency with customizable templates and are tightly aligned with UDL principles to support all learners. The process stays the same while the content changes. Scaffolding with a gradual release as the protocols are repeatedly used ensures success.

GETTING STARTEDOur goal is that students, when familiar with the technology and the protocol process, can completely focus on the content. It is imperative to move into the EduProtocols with purpose and at a pace that is slow enough that all students can master the process first. Work the EduProtocols into your curriculum slowly, one at a time. Choose one protocol, and when it’s going smoothly, after using it weekly for about a month or two, start another. Over the course of the year, your students should be able to master between four and seven EduProtocols. The following year, as you have successfully built your capacity for teaching with EduProtocols, you will be able to introduce them more quickly to your students, perhaps one or two per month. BADGESClick a badge to get started. Once you have earned a badge and accepted it, it will appear on the Leader Board in the District Vault. If you have earned 4 of the badges listed below, submit a request to be awarded the Willard Certified EduProtocols badge Links to an external site.. DGH: Once you've earned a badge, you can count the time indicated below as District Growth Hours. The learning must support your Professional Development Plan and have your building administrators' approval.
