Installing the StarBoard Software on Your Laptop

If you want to install the software on your laptop, you can practice using it as well as create lessons that can be saved and used on your desktop in your classroom. 

  1. Close all other software that is running on the device.
  2. Navigate to the F drive and open the Lab Folder.
  3. Open the Hitachi Folder.
  4. Copy the Starboard Folder onto your desktop. You can't install it from the server. 
  5. Double click on the Setup.exe file.
  6. When asked if you want to allow this app to  make changes to your PC click YES. 
  7. Select "StarBoard Software 9/71 Installer" from the menu.
  8. Welcome Window: NEXT
  9. Custom Setup Window: NEXT
  10. Install
  11. Check the button for "I accept...."
  12. NEXT
  13. Check the button for "Yes, I want to restart my computer now."
  14. Delete the Starboard Folder from you desktop.

The first time you start the software it will ask you to select a template for your new profile. Choose "Standard settings."

When you open the software on your laptop that does not have the projector connected to it, you will see this notice on the Canvas, "StarBoard is not connected." You can continue to use the software without connecting the projector.
